Our stance

The Via Appia was the first road one could rely on. Paved with basalt, measured in miles, built for centuries. We named ourselves after it because that is how we work.

Via Appia is neither a portal nor a catalogue. We are a small house that designs journeys for a few clients: for families moving three generations under one roof, for entrepreneurs whose calendars forgive no mistakes, and for people who want to reach places no search box knows.

We travel what we recommend. We know the hosts, the guides and the pilots. And whoever advises you accompanies you too, from the first conversation until you are home again.

2002Founded in Recklinghausen. Owner-managed, independent, no sales pressure.
1 point of contactNo ticketing system, no changing hands, no hold music.

The Road

Great journeys begin with a conversation.

Milestone I

Conversation

In person in Recklinghausen, by telephone or video. What should this journey be for you? Who travels, when, in what setting? We ask the questions a form does not.

About 45 minutes · no obligation
Milestone II

Concept

Two or three considered proposals as a travel concept: route, houses, people on the ground, rhythm, budget. Not a hotel list, but a dramaturgy.

Travel concept as a document
Milestone III

Arrangement

Flights, houses, transfers, guides, tables, visas. We arrange and coordinate everything from one desk, with clear conditions and the tour operators’ insolvency protection certificates. You receive your documents in one bundle.

Travel documents · protection certificates
Milestone IV

On the road and after

During the journey we are reachable and handle whatever changes. Afterwards we talk about what was good. That is how one journey becomes the next.

Availability · follow-up

We answer every enquiry within one working day. Personally, not automatically.

Clients

Those who have travelled with us once call again.

In twenty years we have never planned a journey ourselves. Not because we could not. Because it is in better hands here.
